Subject:
Fighting at Minus 40 degree
This is a first hand account of the fighting "on the ground" in temperatures up to minus 50 Fahrenheit. At -40 both Fahrenheit and Celsius scales meet. For those of us who dash into a 7/11 with the motor running its beyond comprehension. Here and excerpt:"we began our fatal withdrawal-fighting from house to house in snow up to our waist, each new dash leaving more of our comrades lying in the cold and snow, never to be seen again."
For a political overview of the the times and situation check wiki at:

Courage and heroism are the words we use to describe such actions, but only those that were there can tell of the cold and suffering they endured.
